Put on You Red UnderRoos

So I've heard about this tradition of wearing red panties/underwear on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day brings good luck for the New Year. Apparently it's popular in many countries such as Italy, Mexico, Spain, Venezuela and the list goes on. Considering that I'm half Hispanic, (only because I'm married to one) I'm surprised of never heard of this tradition- but BFlo hasn't either. Some people say that wearing yellow ones are for luck and red are for love... Not sure who made up this tradition, but BFlo and I have our Red Underoos on!!! Hahaha! And I have red socks too :)

So go to your local Victoria's Secret or wherever you buy your red or yellow, or red and yellow undergarments and get in the New Year Spirit!

Happy 2011!!!!! Love ya!
Let me know if you have any more info on this tradition.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!

The Good- Our buyer finally was able to close on our house yesterday.

The Bad- We have to be out of our house by January 31st and our house won't be ready on time. Actually it's delayed like 2-3 months... :( If you have any suggestions as to where we should live, let me know!

The Ugly- The reason I didn't post anything yesterday is because I was hurling and in bed all day. BFlo gave me the stomach flu. But I'm so much better today! WooHoo!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you ever got up and needed to get your booty out of the house very quick like because maybe you didn't wake up on time? And your hair desperately needs to be washed, but you have zero time to wash it? I've heard great things about this product-
TRESemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo is supposed to make your hair feel and look like it's clean, and you can buy it at WalMart. I'm pretty sure that I need to try this stuff out immediately! This is what their site says, "Zap oil and odor in between washes with this new dry shampoo. The unique formula gives hair a clean look and feel with gorgeous volume, even when you don’t wash." Check it out here for more info and their full product line. You never know when you might need this stuff to save the day. I'm not encouraging laziness by any means. But it's better to be lazy then to look Frumpy! Haha!
Have you ever tried a dry shampoo?
Let me know what you suggest.
Merry Sickmas!
This is what I call the day after Christmas and the few days after when one is sick. Thankfully we were able to get back to Dallas last night. Poor BFlo managed not to hurl on the flight. I did take the day off to take care of my babe. After 5 trips to the store, a few episodes of Jersey Shore- season 1 (Season 3 Trailer- HeRe), an hour and a half workout, and jambalaya in honor of the Saints playing tonight. I'm ready for beddy-bye!!!
Trying to get things under control with this.
The next Pedialyte model!
Here is the link for the Jambalaya that I made- Geaux Saints! Easy to make in the crockpot! I found spicy andouille sausage at Sprouts. It was nitrate free, MSG free and gluten-free- I liked it!
Any health advise for someone that can't stop using the restroom?
If it doesn't get better by tomorrow, we're going back to the doc.
Cats like Marshmallows?
We went down to The Plaza last night to see the lights and get some Starbucks!
My Dad waiting for his drink
My drink of choice and my new favorite scarf (Target= $12.99)!
I was thirsty and had already been at Starbucks once today to see my great friend Ashley and her adorable little Princess. After a brisk walk in the 38 degree heat wave, we checked out some Christmas lights.
Nikko Man!
We flew up to Kansas City this morning at the lovely hour of 6am, which meant a 4am wake-up call... Tonight, my dad treated us to a delicious dinner at a local Japanese Steakhouse- Nikko's. After a 5 course meal which consisted of salad, soup, fried rice, scallops and veggies for me, I'm stuffed, happy and ready for bed. After a luxurious 4 hrs of sleep last night, I'm barely alive right now at 9pm. Cheers to great family time over the holidays, and 20 degree weather!
Thank You Debi!!!!!!!!!
While I was cleaning this evening, the doorbell rang. I went to get the door, but no one was there. I looked down and saw a brown box and heard the UPS truck take off. I wasn't expecting anything from UPS, so I thought it was prob for my husband. But when I picked it up, it was to ME?! Looked at the return address- Totally Clueless. Opened up the box, and inside was another box.
I adore Kelly Ripa! And I thought for a second that she might be sending me shoes to try out. But then I realized that I'm no SkinnyRunner, and I don't run.... And that's not my shoe size either. Hmmm... I slashed through more tape, opened the box, and saw this sweet note:
What on earth would my best friend's sister-in-law be sending me? The funniest part, to me, is that I've never met Debi, but we're like best friends because of Facebook and email. So, I really do feel like I know her. Next, I start sifting through the tissue paper to see what could be in here. Ta Da...
I was completely speechless! Still kind of am. Then I screamed with excitement! Of course the kitties ran over immediately and wanted to jump in the UPS box of popcorn. Do you understand what this means to me people?! Seriously. How in the world Iowa got a Trader Joe's before Dallas, I will never know, but their Crunchy, Unsalted Almond Butter is like the Best thing EVER!!!! I cannot believe that she sent this to me. It was the best Christmas gift of all time!
Debi- I can't thank you enough. You are a Rockstar. And the most kind, compassionate, real person that I've come across. I will never make fun of your snowy, freezing weather in Iowa again! (BTW, it was 80 here today, but I am headed to KC tomorrow where it will be like -54, ok, more like 35).
What's your best Christmas surprise?
50 PiNK Cookies and an Ugly Dress?
Yes, I made 50 PiNK cookies today in honor of Christmas. I made a TON of cookies for my Peeps. But I'm pretty sure that I made 75 PiNK cookies in the last 2 days! Holy Nutcracker, what if I made 25 more, so then maybe I could set some type of record for making 100 PiNK cookies in approx 24hrs?!
So, yeah, a google PiNK cookies and 30 handwritten Christmas cards later, I'm about to pass out and not wake up until Christmas. What more to get you in the Christmas spirit than a 77 degree sunny day! I can't wait for the beautiful day in Dallas tomorrow! Not a bad day today, it was 74... Maybe I could lay out by the pool tomorrow before we head north for the holidays :) Are you jealous yet?
My new 'tweaked' PiNK recipe:
1 small jar maraschino cherries, drained and finely chopped
2 1/2 c. Pamela's baking & pancake mix
1/3 c. agave nectar
1 c. extra virgin coconut oil
1 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. cherry juice from the jar
White almond bark for melting and dipping
*Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees F.  Drain cherries. Save 1 tsp of the juice.
*In a large bowl, combine baking mix and agave nectar.  Using a pastry blender, cut in the softened coconut oil until mixture resembles fine crumbs.  Stir in drained and chopped cherries.  Stir in almond extract and cherry juice. Knead mixture until a soft dough ball has formed, incorporating all crumbs in the bowl.
*Shape dough in to 3/4 inch flattened balls. Place balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.                                                                                                                   *Bake in a preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until centers are set.  Cool for 1 min. on a cookie sheet.  Transfer to a wire rack and let cool.
*Melt almond bark.
*Dip half of each cooled cookie in the almond bark. Place on waxed/parchment paper,  let cool to allow bark to harden.
Onto more important topics... My Floral cotton dress. So I put my outfit on "Go Try it On." Another free iPhone app where you rate people's outfits. People take pictures of themselves, post them, and ask what you think, or which one of 2 or 3 outfits they should wear for a date. Seems cute, and I am a bit addicted, but I also get some good ideas from it as well. But anyways, they rated my dress as "Return it." What the heck? Please tell me what you think, this is the pic I posted:
$13.50 @Forever21
I think it's really cute. Which is obviously the reason why I bought it. The pics online totally look weird. I got the navy/purple one for my friend.
Seriously, is it bad?
80's Outfit
Tonight I'm missing out on the Danceaton Christmas 80s party at the rollerskating rink, and I'm very sad to be missing it. But I've had some of my favorite friends ask for help on what to wear to the party. I'm totally not an 80s fan. I was born in the 80s and that's about it. I can remember tight rolling my jeans and wearing 2 different colored socks per foot. I had pink and turquoise that I liked to pair together. I had paint splattered jeans that I absolutely hated with a passion. I did like the little shirt loop things that came in so many colors of plastic. I think I'll appreciate the 80s later on in life, but as for right now, I still can't appreciate it.
So, without further adieu, this is for you Ana:
From Target
From Forever21
From Forever21
From Forever21
From Old Navy
You can prob find these at the Dollar Tree
I know there's some die-hard 80s fans out there.
Please tell me why I need to love the 80s!
