Why is Christmas eating Thanksgiving? Halloween ended, the next day, Christmas lights went up. What happened to Thanksgiving people? Should we move it to another month before it gets forgotten? Don't get me wrong, I truly enjoy Christmas! However, I do follow the tradition of Kansas City's The Plaza and turn my lights on (if I have them up) Thanksgiving night, but never before! Because that would be disrespectful to our Pilgrim and Indian ancestors.
Why is Thanksgiving my favorite holiday?
7 reasons in no particular order:
- Family time
- No gifts required
- Food
- My Birthday is the week before
- The day after is ALWAYS all about Shopping
- Generally the weather is Gorgeous and the air is Crisp
- A reminder that Christmas is a month away
I got this sweater dress at H&M at their grand opening in Plano, TX a week ago. I got this tan one and a black one exactly like it as well. It was buy one get one free for $24.99, and is probably the warmest article of clothing that resides in my closet, (besides my Ugg slippers) :) I'll wear it over my $10 Forever21 jeggings, belted and with my new boots.
I got these at A'Gaci for $32.50, and I LOVE them! For some reason the zipper on the back likes giving me trouble, however I quickly forget about the trouble once I have them on and am getting compliments by all of the folks at Costco. Oops, did I just say that out loud? Yeah, I dress up to go to Costco because that's how exciting life of a working wife is!
What are your Thanksgiving plans?
I will be in KC, on The Plaza, standing outside on a balcony,
overlooking the lights being turned on, drinking something warm ;)
