A Certified Vegan Purse?

Who would have guessed that a trip to Sam Moon could turn out to be so animal friendly??? So, I needed a new dark brown purse. Best place to go? Sam Moon. If you have never been to Sam Moon, you really need to put it on your Bucket List ASAP, your life will not be complete without a visit to paradise! Can you imagine purses and jewelry everywhere? So many that you can't even see straight and it's like totally sensory overload? It's kind of like a purse/jewelry version of Forever21, but more organized.

My mission for one dark brown purse turned into 2 purses. And unfortunately it wasn't a buy one get one free situation :( Here is the brown one online (it looks different online). And now in person:

Now for the purse that threatened abandonment. So I walk by this purse, and she instantly clings to me. I say to myself "$36? But it's really comfy and looks like me..." and then I walk away. Somehow I end up next to the purse again, and this time I'm telling myself "Self- are you freaking crazy??? There's women out there that spend hundreds on a purse, and this is only $36, plus I'm totally in love." I waffle back in forth for a bit, and then the purse threatens me by trying to put a guilt trip on me for touching her, showing appreciation toward her, and then turning her back into the wild jungle of crazy women looking for 'the one.' It was like worse than a child abandonment situation, and she left me no choice... Her name is Chloƫ:

I don't know why, but the second pic looks 2-toned, and I promise that Chloƫ is no 2-toned girl, it must've been the lighting... And her fraternal twin cousin online looks yellow, it's so weird. But she came with a tag that says Certified Vegan, and something like there was no testing that's been done on animals, and that the pieces are not made from animals.

Have you ever had a purse just jump
onto your arm and refuse to part?
Apparently it's one of many problems that I continue to run into...

Favorite Dresses from the 2011 Oscar's

Everyone is complaining that the Oscar's were so boring and yada yada yada... All I care to watch is the Red Carpet countdowns, it's really the most entertaining part of the evening regardless. Plus, the only movie that I saw that was nominated was Black Swan. And some of you might come hunt me down and kill me in my sleep for saying this, (if you LOVED Black Swan please close your eyes and don't read the next 15 words!) but I thought it was the worst movie I've ever seen in my ENTIRE life! I really want to see some of the others like Social Network, Toy Story 3 (a lot of people said it was sad, and I really don't want to cry. Not too sure about this one yet...), The Fighter, and maybe the King's Speech.

Here are my favorite dresses of the Oscar evening in no particular order:
Natalie Portman in Rodarte. Her baby bump is cute*
Halle Berry, stunning as always in a nude Marchesa gown.

My Favorite dress of the night!!! Gwyneth Paltron in Calvin Klein.

Mila Kunis in a lavender Elie Saab.

Hailee Steifeld in an Adorable and age appropriate Marchesa.

I want to applaud Gwyneth for keeping it natural and not getting fake boobs! She looks great and doesn't need to fit into any mold or type- she looks perfect and natural, and would benefit from a $5 foot-long instead of boobs. Nicole Kidman's dress was ok, but I didn't care for the red shoes at all. And Scarlet Johansson's hair was a Hot Mess!!!

And of course, I saved the best and happiest woman of them all for the last!

Words cannot describe Helena's enthusiasm...

Sebastian was undercover doing his own thing during the evening's festivities:

What were your favorite dresses?
What Oscar's nominated film should I make sure to see?

Meatballs and the "C" word...

Deena + Snooki= Meatballs. If you don't watch Jersey Shore, that would mean that you probably have a life and don't have time for the most retarded TV shows in the world. Clearly, that is not my problem. I obviously like ridiculous, mindless TV. So, why are Snooki and Deena called meatballs, and actually refer to themselves as meatballs??? Because that's what they look like.

Deena and Snooki.

The C-word that I'm referring to is Constipation. There, I said it! The topic that most are too embarrassed to talk about. Well, unless you're known as the "meatballs." Deena and Snooki are constantly talking about their pooty toot dilemmas, and I have a solution for their problem, because I was once in their shoes. There is so much research out there that points to a gluten intolerance as a cause of constipation. Just Google it- check it out here. After I changed my style of eating to gluten free, I had a whole lot less stomach issues, constipation issues and the list goes on. So, if you find yourself in constant pain in your stomach, constant bloaty-ness, the need to curl up in a heating pad, try gluten free living. It helped me!

See, I can help even the Jersey Shore people!
Have you learned anything form Jersey Shore?

Wednesday was Buy a Bikini Day!

Apparently Monday was a national holiday that I clearly missed out on- Margarita Monday? Why didn't anyone tell me??? :( So I deemed Wednesday as Buy a Bikini Wednesday! If you didn't buy one, you totally missed out- haha!

So... I had a really terrible evening on Tuesday night. Like 4 bad things happened all at once, and it was just crappy timing. The cure? Retail therapy. I feel so much better now. It's amazing what a little retail therapy can do to clear the mind and rejuvenate the soul!

This is what I found:

Nice and Bright flowery Bikini- $10.99 @Ross

I love the ruffles! <3

I have serious junk in the trunk, no back side booty pics!
Here is the much slimmer front side:
iPhone 3GS is so 2 yrs ago! I know, I need to upgrade...

AND..........

A Max Studio dress-
This dress retails for $118
I got it @Ross for $16.99

That's 1/7th of the price people! That's like 86% off!

Ok, I feel SO MUCH BETTER NOW!!!

Have you ever tried Retail Therapy?
It should be on my insurance plan!

What's a Bieber?

February 22, 2011 will forever be remembered as the day Justin Bieber cut his hair. Forget about the war in North Africa, protests in Egypt, and the earthquake in New Zealand, and let's focus on the most important event that took place in us shallow Americans' lives today...

It is in fact one of the top tickers on cnn.com: "Justin Bieber debuts 'mature' haircut"

Before:

After:

He looks older. More polished.

Do you think that America is full of a lot of
shallow people that don't care to take a look
at what's going on in the world around them???

oh.... and what do you think of the Bieb's hair?

What does a Suspended DJ have Anything to do with it???

Obviously I've been MIA lately. I'll tell you what, with a new job, the hugest church conference of the year, finding time for the gym, and squeezing Valentine's Day in there somewhere, I've had ZERO time!!! I really need a vacation. And by vacation I mean like a cruise in the Caribbean with no access to life outside of the beach. But that's not going to happen right now. I would take South Beach Miami "working" on my Blackberry and iPhone...

This is what last week was all about in the J.Flo household-

Right before the conference began- Suspended DJ

Packed out @Fellowship Church

Dusty PiNK Shoes

Dusty PiNK is my all time favorite color for spring. So in honor of this upcoming spring, I had to purchase this cute little ballet flats-

They were only $12 at Ross. They pair well with my favorite neutral of all time- Tan! I actually wore them while helping out in the church coffee shop, and they were perfect! Comfortable, easy to clean, and worthy of many compliments :)

Since we're talking about my favorite color, which is obviously PiNK, let's talk new PiNK stuff! So my favorite diva, fitness instructor gave me homemade sugar scrub the other day, and it is so beyond fantastic, that I don't know what else to say!

PiNK sugar scrub for Pinky- Clever!

I'm pretty sure that she needs to sell this stuff, because it's AWESOME!!!!!! And I swear that it makes my legs even smoother after I shave. I'm going to ask her how much she charges for this and pass it along.

And last but not least, my latest find= new mascara. I have a problem, whenever mascara is on sale at WalMart, I will get it. So this was on sale yesterday-

One by One by Maybellene, it looks red, but it's really Hot Pink! :) For $5, this was a great deal! I liked the mascara but noticed that I needed to put a few coats on to get the look that I want to achieve. But it comes off really easy too. (And for the record, the casing is the only thing that's PiNK, the mascara is black. I don't think my life in corporate America would last too long if I wore Hot PiNK mascara, but it would be pretty cool for a costume party).

What's your favorite Mascara?

Fashion for the Bedroom

So, for some reason, unknown to God and all of mankind, I was in Target until 10pm the other night. I wasn't really doing anything other than jacking around. Maybe I was reminiscing of my high school years when it was like the only thing we could do that was slightly moralistic and wholesome....

While I was there, I decided that I want the following items for our new master bedroom motif in the new house:
Picture for above the bed

Pillows for the bed

Lamp for the nightstand

DVD Player for the TV

And finally a remote that I can figure out!!!

Do you think BFlo will like it???

My Weekend was full of Milanesa!

What is Milanesa you might be asking? Pronounced: Mil-a-neigh-sa. Check out the definition here. This is a what I call a Latin version on chicken fried steak, kind of... Everybody does it differently, but Sra. Gnazzo made it just perfect! She paired the milanesa with tortilla de patatas (to find out what these are check this out) and a nice salad.

Sra. Gnazzo aka, The Milanesa Chef
Milanesa on the bottom, tortilla de patatas on top and homemade Sangria in between
And last, but certainly not least, dessert. We had homemade FLAN!!!

OMG, we obviously had the best weekend EVER and will need our workout desperately!

Did you eat anything amazing over the weekend?
Or did you try something new?

The Coldest Jury Outfit

Happy Thursday, aka Jury Day to me! Every Thursday that's what I do. Talked about some accidental murders today, that was sad :( But something that wasn't sad- I showed up EARLY! And I was dressed warm and cute! Because that's all that matters in my shallow little world, haha! (Joking)

It would be easier to take a picture of the outfit on myself, but I like to complicate things. Here's the warm duds:

Forever21 Jeggings, with A'gaci long-sleeve tee, under my $7 belted Ross sweater (belt was $6 at Forever21) and boots from A'Gaci. Warm, cute, neutral, and a respectable look in our little court meeting room.

What are your favorite cute and cozy, fashionable outfits like?

The Worst Yogurt EVER!

Went to Yogurt Tree tonight. Pretty sure that it was the WORST yogurt that I've ever had in my life! I don't even know how to describe it to you. The flavors were terrible, and it was just totally Gross! I've decided that the next time I have the urge/need/desire for yogurt, I will either go out of my way to get some Yogurtland, or eat Yogurtland for dinner because it's on my way home from the gym...

Roughin' It

I know you're probably gonna want to punch me in the face after I say this, but 'roughing it' for me is not having a DVR. I know that there might be a few of you that are really sweet and might sympathize with me, because maybe you have an addiction to television too. But I know some might just show up on my door step with a bat in hand to give me a reality check. I know, I need one.

We are so blessed to be able to stay with a friend while our house is being built. Like, really blessed. Apartments around here don't do month to month leases, and if they do it's under a corporate housing rate which in at least $100 per day! I couldn't see an extended stay hotel working for us, one because we have two babies (aka, two bengal cats) that like to smack each other around, and two, because I've never had to go to a laundry mat before, and I would embarrass myself and those around me if I did end up at one because I'm so clueless about them.

The one thing we don't have... DVR. It's rough. All I got to watch was the rose ceremony of The Bachelor, I totally missed the rest of the episode! Guess I'll have to catch up on it @RealitySteve.com. We did watch our first episode of Pawn Stars live. It was a pretty good show actually! Learned a bit of history. Like how this lady's grandmother's mandolin was made in 1907 in Italy, perfect condition, original tortoise shell inlay and sold for $3500 so that she could gamble on her honeymoon. Bet her grandma would've been proud!

On another note, after working out Sunday morning, I kinda forgot about eating lunch. I didn't realize that my body was in starvation mode until I started yelling at BFlo for no reason at all. Poor thing had no idea what was happening, and I basically told him that he needed to jump out of the car while driving. Unfortunately, he didn't listen to me.
My new #1 Wife decal!

Do you get Grumpy when your blood sugar drops?
Any advice on how to avoid this problem?

So much for the Black & Yellow...

But congrats to the green and yellow! I'm not a fan of either team, so the Super Bowl game wasn't a big deal for me. But what was a big deal was the Halftime Show! I really think that it was the best halftime show that I've ever seen. Very entertaining, very good set-up. I totally would have fist-pumped at Jerry World if they asked me to. Fergie looked a little rough, she needs to put a bit more time into her fitness... She looks way better than when I've seen her in the past though. It's weird because sometimes she looks hot, and sometimes she totally does not. I guess her and I have more in common than I thought.

Did you like Halftime?

What did you think of Christina botching up the National Anthem?

Any favorite commercials?

Trumped for 49 cents

Apparently my favorite fitness instructor turned into the #1 Panamanian snow driver of the year while I was away. Who would've guessed that someone from Panama could maneuver through 6 inches of snow on top of 3 inches of ice while dodging out of control vehicles crossing her path? This woman is like Zena Princess Warrior on steroids, and all in the name of shopping. And this is what she found:

I really don't know if I'll ever be able to beat that.... I mean, you can barely buy a piece of gum for 10 cents these days....

Doesn't this look like the happiest shoe shopper that you've ever met?

The warrior's mommy, Que linda!

Have you every gotten a clothing item for less than 49 cents???
 Please help me compete.
