Judgement and the Gym

The day after BFlo took the "Blogworthy" booty pic that he wanted me to post, he received this fortune...

We laughed for hours! Tiz true. But it wasn't judgement, it was a warning to Kim K. that she has some serious competition out there. :)

What happens on the way into the Gym:

Just a quick documentation of a few things I have seen on the way into the gym.

Ummm... Anyone missing hair?

Can we say "Low Rider"? Wanna know how low?

So low that it's resting on the ground. Nice!

I've been fighting equilibrium issues since returning from Aruba. Traveling with congestion is never a good idea. My left ear is completely jacked up, and I'm beginning to think that I need to get a tube in it in order to drain it out (it's been like this off and on for a year). Let me know if you have any suggestions for me!

Power to the Bundunkadunk

While I was in line waiting with a whole bunch of 7yr olds to go down the slide at the pool, my husband found a "Blogworthy" picture. I got out of the pool, he's laughing so hard, I ask what's so funny... He tells me "you're gonna be mad at me, but I have to show you this picture." Ready? You can't be, but here it is anyways...

Kim Kardashian- I found your twin!!! She's in Aruba!

I know, we're terrible people. I checked, and she's not blind. She fully knew what she looked like in her swimsuit before she stepped out in public. So as far as we're concerned, she asked for it! ;)

Butt floss should be illegal!

Con Ta Bai Mi Dushi?

That means "How are you my love?" in Papiamento, Aruba's native language. BFlo has been going around telling everyone that he speaks their language, uses his coin phrases and then starts laughing hysterically. They love him here! His favorite word, besides saying "this is mi dushi" and pointing at me, is "Danki," which means thank you. Saying thank you to someone in their language means the world to people.

Today was really eventful! We rented a car and drove all over the island. We saw some ruins- "Bushiribana is the name of the ruins of an old pirate castle that still stands (barely) today. The year 1824 was when they finally discovered gold near Bushiribana. In 1872, the Aruba Island Gold Mining Company built a large smelting works at Bushiribana, for gold that was being mined at Seroe Plat."

Then we saw the natural bridge. Half of it collapsed, but some is still there.

After that we drove to Baby Beach which is an awesome beach at the very south end of the island.

After we saw a kite-surfing competition, we headed back.

We finished the night off with a kalua coffee and cuban cigar :)

Gone Fishing

I went Deep Sea Fishing for the first time this week. Guess this is a week of firsts :) Deep Sea Fishing is like a lazy man's way of fishing. Someone drives you out, baits and sets the rods, and when you hear the reel screaming you know it hit, they hand you the pole, and you reel it in. Easy as that. So when I say I caught 6 fish, I really mean that someone handed me a the fishing pole and I used my muscles ;) Between 4 of us, we caught 24 fish and a Marlin!

EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

He was looking at Me! Yuck!

Day & Nite

Last night we went to dinner at a restaurant next to the California Lighthouse. We got there at the perfect moment to catch the gorgeous sunset! The lighthouse was named after a vessel called "California" that wrecked here in 1891. The lighthouse was built nearly 100yrs ago.

We ate at this deliscious Italian restaurant that overlooked the Northwest side of the island with beautiful views of the sunset. (Ummm... why am I not in these pics? Things will change going forward- more pics of yours truly will be provided).

BFlo is such a jokester. While ordering he asked if he could get a burger, medium, with fries and extra ketchup. Poor lady, she was SO confused, and then of course he busts out laughing. For dessert he was telling his coworker's daughter that he was going to order the calamari gelato... She was like, "where's that?" He laughed for like 10min. My husband is something else... No pics of my amazing dinner, I was STARVING and gobbled it down. I had Gnocchi alla Vodka with grilled chicken. Delicioso!

We picked up some Cubans at the local cigar shop, which were 1/5th of the hotel price. I had to take a pic of this photo in the shop (our future child)

We then enjoyed some refreshing beverages (me and Erica)

----------------------------------------------------
I got up early this morning and enjoyed a 45min Beach Yoga Class. I need to do more Yoga classes. It lengthens and leans out your muscles, giving great shape and beautiful tone. But for me, I honestly need a good stretch at least once a week with all of the advanced cardio I do.

After Yoga, I saw a guy mowing and determined that we NEED this lawn mower!!! It's so small and would be perfect for our yard and would fit nicely in the garage (it's battery operated too, no fumes). Now I need to find one state-side.

And now, while the hubster is at work events, I'm lounging :)

Happy Monday to You!

Parasailing in Paradise

Quite the eventful Sunday, that's for sure. No dreading going to work on Monday for me, Yipee! We started out the day with breakfast, then beach, jet skis, lunch, then parasailing. We finished the evening with an incredible view followed by 'Sunset Paradise' (a tasty adult beverage) and a Cuban Cigar! This is the life.
My fresh and delicious southern Caribbean lunch- Snapper Ceviche y tostones

We couldn't take our camera to Jet Ski :( I meant to go buy one of those awesome, digital underwater cameras, but unfortunately I ran out of time last week, boo! Next time. 0And BFlo lost his sunglasses while jet skiing. Thank God they were only $6.99 @Ross, and not the $13.99 Armanis that I got him there. Two thumbs up!) But we DID take our camera up in the parasail, and I bet you can tell who was in possession of the camera...

BFlo was super proud of his self portrait.

This was an Amazing experience.

Even though a girl that was on the boat before us came off with a dramatic "I will NEVER do that again!!!" It wasn't too scary, although we did jerk around a bit (I think the driver went off daydreaming for a moment...) If you're scared of heights, it's prob not the best option for you.

Our Vacation in Aruba Begins!

My hardworking husband won us a trip to Aruba! Gratis of Lenovo!!! (keep buying Lenovo pc's and laptops people!) He worked his rear off. I am a very blessed and proud wifey. Geaux BFlo!
Wearing his shades indoors while promoting Starbucks

Wrapping luggage with saran wrap? This is a new one to me :)

We're staying in the Hyatt

Our View

We are totally stoked to say the least! Aruba is a pretty small island, 19x6 miles. SR could probably run the entire island in 2hrs 17min. Let me know if you have any recommendations! We're here for the week.

60 Min in HELL!

Yesterday I was invited by some lovely friends to come out to a 'bring your friend to bootcamp' week. I thought, sure, no biggie, I do bootcamp class at the gym a few days a week, plus I workout every day, so this can't be can't be that bad... Oh WOW! So the bootcamp is called Camp Gladiator, to find out more about them click here. I went. It was 100 degrees outside. Camp Gladiator was in a park OUTSIDE! We were working out, outside, in 100 degree sunshine with 60% humidity! Is that crazy or what???

It was so freaking hard that I can't even remember what all I did for those torturous 60 minutes of my life. We started out with a warm-up of high knees, jumping jacks and that kind of stuff. Ran down to the lake. Did 10 jumping jacks, 10 squats and 10 jumps from the ground to the top of this wall for I don't even know how long. Then we ran back to where we started. Next, we played a "card game." Something like if he pulled a 2 of hearts it meant do 2 star jumping jacks. Depending on what the card was we did that number of ski abs, atomic push-ups, star jumping jacks, burpees, 30 sec football run, 30 sec high knees, running around the track, and who knows what else I forgot that I did. We went through every card in the deck. Then we did the last 15 minutes as hardcore abs. Talk about a true separation of mind and body. I felt like I wanted to DIE!!!

On my way home from my 60min trip to hell, I received this picture via text from my favorite fitness instructor:

And for those of you that don't know, In-N-Out Burger just came to Texas. The lines have been like 10hrs long, and these people are crazy. I've never had it. I could prob get to heaven without ever having it, but my husband and favorite fitness instructor feel like they MUST and NEED to try it out ASAP.

Picture #2:

I am scared to find out the calorie and fat content... We've decided to make a shirt that says, "Thank you Jesus that we don't have class with Gaby tomorrow!" Those poor people in her class. I know she made them work it off for her.

Story Time!
Let's talk about annoying people at the gym
(or wherever you workout. Could be a park, studio, anywhere)

I did Boxing Bootcamp at the gym tonight with air conditioning! (Woohoo!) There were these 2 girls that were literally just sitting there chilling in the middle of class for 30min on the ground before they decided to leave. REALLY people? Do you think that the building that says 24 Hour Fitness on the front of it in big bold letters because it is really advertising a napping facility? There's no easing into working out. You either do it, or you don't. You either sweat or pretending like you're trying to sweat.

Island Time!

We head out to Aruba on Saturday. BFlo did so Ah-Some at work and they are awarding his Awesomeness!!! I found the perfect island dress at Forever21 for only $17.80.

Like my Putt Putt skills? I can't find the dress online, therefore no link :( I got it in Scottsdale, and they also had it in yellow. Super cute, great price and who doesn't love a Hot PiNK dress??? Seriously.

I've been working my hiney off, therefore haven't had much time for vacation research.
Any suggestions as to what we should do in Aruba?
We've never been.

Deal of the Day

I found a vintage looking Mavs t-shirt for BFlo at TJ Maxx.

A new way to carry your H2O

When you're on a hike, have been hiking for 3hrs and counting and don't want to carry your water bottle anymore, what do you do with it? I mean, you can't litter- come on people, you'll get fined for littering these days!

I can easily entertain myself on a hike. Top look was copied from my best friend, so I can't take the credit. The rear holder was invented by Yours Truly (of course!) Gotta be creative and make your fashion work for you :)

How do you carry your H2O?

DO NOT Text and Hike at the Same Time!

I am slightly obsessed with Arizona, and the desert is like a hidden gem to me. It's always sunny, warm and dry. I never sneeze, cough or feel like I'm having an allergy attack. The homes are mostly all a Spanish/Mediterranean/Adobe-look. I don't need a beach, because laying in the middle of the desert next to an infinity pool is my version of Paradise. The outdoor activities are endless. The Ross in Fountain Hills, AZ knows my name (it called me into the store). Old people are AWESOME! The H&M is big, and the Forever21 is almost organized. They have a Tommy Bahama restaurant. I LOVE AZ!

But I HAVE to Warn You! There are such things as 'Jumping Cacti' and they like to jump into your skin when you are simply not paying attention. Or maybe they just jump into my path when I'm trying to send B.Flo this picture (he was working)...

The view of Fountain Hill's Fountain while
on a hike in the middle of the desert.

The Culprit:

Dad to the rescue:

So yeah, this "Teddy Bear Cholla" which is no teddy bear, when into my shoe and into my foot! It was very painful. I tried to snap some shots with the cam while in serious pain! At least I got a few ;)

And BTW, the Dixie Mine Trail was super boring. We hiked for 3 hours and didn't even see a real mine.

Moral of the story is: If you're not supposed to text and drive, the same concept also applies to hiking.

Have you every gotten lost on a Hike?
