One for You, Seven for ME!

This weekend was my mother-in-law's (MIL) birthday. Of course I got a reminder from my husband in the middle of a customer meeting on Friday... "Thanks babe! It's your mom's bday right? So what are you getting her?" I just love how once you get married it's all of a sudden the wife's job to keep track of every family member's bday, anniversary etc on your husband's side of the family... We've only been together for a total of 7yrs, so I really should know this stuff and keep reminders. Sorry Mamacita!

So I went shopping like a good daughter-in-law should. I walked out with one something for my MIL, and seven somethings for me... Wow! I sure do have a problem. It was an awesome day for me, and a sad day for my bank account. Since I haven't sent her gift yet (bc of my issues with having to walk into the post office), I'll show you what I got for me, and show you what I got for her later on this week- it's pretty rad.

First off, a bag of BRiGHT colors. This bag hollered my name across the store- we were destined to be together.

Please tell me that I'm not the only person that
shops for myself while shopping for others...

Limes & Torture

This is week 11 for Baby B.Flo. Every week we pray for the specific developments of our child, and here's what they are this week:
By this week, your 11 week fetus is about the size of 50 millimeters and weighs up to 8 grams. Your little one will gain a substantial amount of weight this week.
Your baby starts to explore its body. The baby focuses more carefully on touching the head, particularly the face and mouth. Particularly the mouth of your baby gives it hours of entertainment. All this happens because your baby gains coordination so that he/she is able to move the hands on command. The baby’s palms also gain sensation and they can feel whatever it touches.
The swallow reflex of your baby begins to develop by this week and with it the baby hiccups appear. Although you are not able to feel the baby’s activity quite yet, the baby is increasingly moving as the bones are becoming harder and the muscle mass of the fetus is increasingly developing.
By the end of week 11 of pregnancy, your baby’s smell and various other olfactory senses start to develop. When these senses are combined with the maturing taste buds, they give your baby its first experience of taste and smell.
The primitive tail is now gone and most of the baby’s organs start to work and external factors like appearance of hair, toenails and fingernails will develop. Your baby’s reproductive organs start to develop rapidly.
Your baby is able to open and close the fists and it can be observed with 11 weeks pregnant ultrasound. Also there is beginning of little buds which will pop out as teeth some day.

I also received a baby sling this week. I had a coupon that made the sling free and all I had to pay for was the shipping. Unfortunately, people don't send me free stuff to "try out," BUT if you know how I can get free stuff- let me know! :)

I decided to test the sling to make sure that it was indeed "safe." My carefully selected models victims were not willing participants in the safety challenge.

I've literally laughed for hours over this pics- I hope you find them entertaining!

Last but not least, I will leave you with this very dangerous recipe that I found on Pinterest---

Credit: Recipe Blog
Oatmeal Chocolate Peanut Butter No-Bake Candy Bars
*it is sorta like a chocolate oatmeal no bake cookie, but extra creamy and special.  it almost reminds me of fudge, but with the added texture of the oats and occasional chewy sweetness of the dried cranberries--yum!

1 cup peanut butter
2/3 cup agave nectar
1/2 cup coconut oil (no substitutes, this is what gives its creamy texture and flavor)
2 cups oats
1 1/4 cups mini chocolate chips
3/4 cup dried cranberries

In a medium sized saucepan, melt together peanut butter, honey and coconut oil.

Remove from heat and add oats, chocolate chips and dried cranberries.  Stir until combined and chocolate chips are melted.

Spread into a 9x13 pan.  Refrigerate until hardened, about an hour.  Store in refrigerator.

The recipe calls for honey, which I subbed with agave nectar. I also used Ghirardelli 60% Cacao bittersweet chips instead of mini chocolate chips. Watch out bc this is freaking ADDICTIVE!!!!

Have a wonderful day Friends!

Bright Accessories!

I am totally obsessed with BRiGHT colors! I love them, they make me smile really big and give me a confident, happy feeling. Last weekend I found myself several spring/summer accessories that made me very excited!

Let's kick it off with skinny belts. Skinny belts are super-popular this season, and can definitely make any outfit. Skinny belts are also very comfortable for people with growing humans in there belly. I not only copycat-ed my whole chalkboard "idea" from this blog (clearly someone had the awesome idea before me), but I'm also going to steal her style! Her skinny-belt, prego fashion is so adorable! Her blog: http://littlebabygarvin.blogspot.com/

My Little Kumquat

I'm a little behind on posting, only this time I have an excuse! Something's growing in my belly! :)
With work, workouts, making dinner every night, by the time I sit down, I literally pass out.

Here's 10wks. Not the best shot, but we're figuring it out as we go along.

Last week I felt SO tired. I could NOT pull myself up out of bed, it was ridiculous! The cloudy, dreary weather all week didn't help at all. And, oh yeah, I hurled for the first time. That was weird and totally unexpected. Other than that, I haven't changed my workout schedule one bit, I hit the gym 5-6 days per week and sometimes do a Jillian Michaels DVD on the Sabbath.

So far so good...

Ready to Wear Bright Colors

I always get very antsy in January and February in anticipation of spring and summer. The clothes are brighter, cuter, happier, and I'm obsessed with swimsuits. Now that I'm pregnant, I'm not really sure what I will be doing about swimsuit season this year, but am open to suggestions, so please let me know.

I was in LaLa Land over a month ago and "forgot" that I was pregnant and bought this two pretty little things:

$19.99 @Marshall's

$12.99 @Marshall's

I have no idea if I will be able to wear them, but they're just too cute. I love them!

Some other bright purchases that I'm pretty sure I can leverage while pregnant all from Forever21:

$15.80 @Forever21
$12.80 @Forever21
$14.80 @Forever21
$19.80 @Forever21

Proof that with the current style trends, you can save your money for the baby's room and buy regular clothes that you can wear during and after pregnancy and still look current and cute! This also goes for plus sized fashion. Check out these styles in Large or XL and they may fit just right, rather than spending extra on the "plus size" label.

Bikini or no Bikini with a Baby Bump?

The BEST V-Day Gift!

Is... hearing our baby's heartbeat!!! <3

Our friends gave us their pocket doppler to use during our pregnancy. If you haven't heard of it or seen it, wow, it's amazing! We can listen to the baby's heartbeat any time we want.

It's amazing how every day the heartbeat is stronger and easier to find. I think this is one of the best inventions that I've ever come across. I don't want to know how much it cost, and am VERY thankful for our generous friends! :)

And our little bean has graduated to an Olive.

I've had 2 moments where I seriously thought I was going to puke, but the moment passed and successfully ate gluten-free crackers with no puking. Other than that, I've felt awesome and have maintained my normal workout routine. I do feel bloated a lot, which is really nasty and annoying, but I really can't complain.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
