31 Weeks

$20 Maxi dress from Ross

The week of preparing for the Baby Shower BBQ at our house... Slightly stressful, but nevertheless a really great time! BFlo got our "outdoor kitchen" done- FiNALLY! Well, really Juan & Co did it, but I've been asking BFlo to get them over here for what seems like forever. He likes to wait until just days before we have a party :) But it was worth it.

Juan did our column with leftover brick from the house, and the stone was left from our fireplace, which he did as well. I'm one happy camper! Now we just need to get rid of the extra 3 boxes of stone that are sitting on the side patio... Let us know if you want any stone!

Here's a pic of the fireplace that Juan did in April-

What else happened his week? Tons of stuff! First off- I tried out nail wraps for the first time. That was totally fun! I wasn't sure about them because I need to have my nails match my toes. Well, I found a set that had enough for nails and toes! Thank you $6.99 Kiss nail wraps from CVS- you were fun!

Like my summer house slippers? Haha! The wraps lasted 1wk, no problems. One word of advice, do NOT paint clear polish over them- it basically disintegrates the wrap. And if you have nail beds the size of a 2yr old- like me, extra work is required. But I loved the results!

AND we bought the rocker/recliner for Baby Girlfriend's quarters! Instead of spending $500+ on a pretty glider from Buy Buy Baby, we got this leather recliner at Ashley Furniture for $280, which we can use in another room after baby use.

I'm on the hunt for the last item needed- a small table for next to the chair.

Wedges not Stilts

I was on the prowl for some white cork wedges this past week. I scoured every store both online and in person. I saw some of the cutest wedges and absolutely loved their style. Only problem, they weren't wedges- they were stilts!!! I mean seriously not everyone wants or needs 5in+ wedges. Whatever happened to the days of 3in wedges? Just to date myself- I remember as a teenager that 3in heels were normal and 4in heels were starting to come into play. Now it's 5 inches going on 6in+, which at this point, I feel they can no longer be classified as heels, but stilts.

I still sacrifice for fashion, but there comes a point in pregnancy where safety and comfort become more of a priority. The G by Guess wedges are some of my favorite white wedeges! My friend Nicole totally Rocks them out, and made me want them very BADLY! However, they're 5in heels :(

The Beautiful Nicole and Ratata
From DSW- they're not online anymore in white, but are in the store

Because I need white wedges for this dress I want to wear next week, I finally found something sensible from Payless that will work out perfectly. Not as cute as the Guess ones, but REALLY comfortable. They're a little more level, so my feet aren't at such a large incline. The store didn't have the white ones, so I ordered them online.

TIPS & TRICKS ON SAVING MONEY ONLINE
I didn't feel like paying $24.99 for wedges from Payless, so I went out and started Googling for discounts. I found out that if I "liked" Payless on Facebook, I could get an additional 20% off. The Facebook link sends you to this page: http://www.payless.com/store/home/mobile.jsp?cid=sm_12sp9_promotab which asks you to put in your info, and then they text you the 20% code (I thought I'd help save you all a step, just click the link). Instead of spending almost $30 on these wedges, I ended up getting 3 pairs of shoes for $32! that's nearly a $15 savings with the 20% off and free shipping to the store, rather than your house. I think that's a deal to be celebrated :)

PS- the sandals were $9 in store and $6 online. So it really can pay off to shop online.

What's your latest find?

30 Weeks

Ay Caray! 30wks?! I can't believe that this pregnancy has literally flown by! This week has been such a great week. I've felt pretty great, been working my butt off at the gym, made some good meals and we got Luciana a new ride!

How awesome is it that on the day we go in to sell BFlo's Beemer, it won't start? Just par for the course for us! *Just gonna throw this advice out there based upon our experience- if you are interested in driving a BMW, Lease it! They are not worth buying because they don't hold their value, start falling a part after 50k miles and become an overall beating.* This is just based upon our experience. We had to get it towed (the starter went out). I find it interesting that this BMW would overheat, drop it's transmission, need a new starter and more- and it's only a 2007. Not sure how this guy fit into our ridiculously tiny driveway and alley- he had mad skillz!

And now that the Beemer is no longer- check out our new dude->

Meet El Guapo

My favorite meal of the week:

Chicken Enchilada Dinner: http://budgetbytes.blogspot.com/2010/06/chicken-enchilada-dinner-1333-meal.html Not sure why it looks so much prettier on their site than mine... but it doesn't matter what it looks like because it tastes delicious!

Hope you all had a Great Week!

29 Weeks

This was a very bad week... I discovered Domino's Gluten Free Cali Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza!

First off, let me preface how terrible I was- Driving home from the gym, hungry, didn't want to cook, so what does this pregnant lady think of, "I should pick up pizza." Genius! Did I mention that I was on my way home from the gym??? Yep- I turned into one of those people. This one place on the way home has GF pizza, but it's kinda gross, and for whatever reason I was reminded that Domino's had GF pizza. Granted I've never eaten a Domino's pizza ever in my entire life, but there's a first for everything. I went in, ordered the pizza, then sat down and started Google-ing reviews to see what I've gotten myself into. The reviews were crazy! People were saying it was the best GF pizza they've ever had! At this point I was feeling pretty stoked to try this stuff out.

Results = The BEST Gluten Free pizza I've ever had in my life!!! It was so amazing that I want to eat it EVERY Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God that I only discovered it in my last 2 months of being pregnant and not sooner :)

Tank- $7.99 @Ross. It has a cute ribbon bow in the back

In the name of Domino's- I will be doing this for the rest of my life-

Please try out this pizza so that I'm
not experiencing this greatness alone!

28 Weeks

28 weeks marks the first week that I actually started feeling pregnant. Not bad I guess :)

We had a great time with friends while trying to avoid Debby- the evil tropical storm! We stayed at the Eden Roc, our first time not staying in South Beach. To be honest, it was a great hotel by all means- but just not the same as staying in South Beach. Having to take a cab to Lincoln Rd and Ocean Drive was SUPER inconvenient, especially when 7months pregnant.

After laying out, I couldn't figure out what the heck was up with my tan line on my legs???

Well Hello?! It was my baby bump getting in the way! Haha! I laughed for like 20min after realizing this, which made my belly button start to pop out, which caused me to laugh even more!!! :)

Miami Heat won the NBA Championship while we were there- talk about Cray-Say! These crazy folks were out banging on pots and pans in all of the streets of Miami! I have never heard of running outside and banging pots and pans when one's celebrating- but more power to them! Thanks for the entertainment silly Miamians! A glimpse out my window-

We also got to go see the Marlins get stomped in their new stadium (Thanks Mingo!) Talk about a nice stadium! They even had a Gluten Free food stand- how awesome is that?

Breakfast in South Beach on Ocean- my favorite because you get a huge plate of food for $5!

Heading over to EspaƱola Way-

The best views in Miami, at a place called Juvia on Lincoln Rd-
